On April 11, the Carbon Monitor team published its annual review titled "Global Carbon Emissions and Decarbonization in 2024" in Nature Reviews Earth & Environment (5-year Impact Factor: 54.6), marking the fifth consecutive year of releasing global daily-scale carbon emission data. Dr. Deng Zhu, a recent PhD graduate from the Department of Earth System Science at Tsinghua University, served as the first author of the paper. Professor Liu Zhu from the Institute for Carbon Neutrality and the Department of Earth System Science at Tsinghua University was the corresponding author. Co-authors included Dr. Zhu Biqing from the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), Professor Steven Davis from Stanford University, Professor Philippe Ciais from the Laboratoire des Sciences du Climat et de l'Environnement (LSCE), Professor Guan Dabo from Tsinghua University’s Institute for Carbon Neutrality and Department of Earth System Science, and Professor Gong Peng from the Department of Geography at the University of Hong Kong. The research was supported by the Carbon Neutrality and Energy System Transformation (CNEST) multilateral cooperation program.
