This year marks the third edition of the Report for CO2 Emission Accounts of Global Emerging Economies. As a significant reference for energy consumption and CO2 emissions, this report provides robust data support and guidance for the low-carbon transition of these emerging economies. In the new report, the Carbon Emission Accounts and Datasets for Emerging Economies (CEADs) continue to monitor the developments in energy consumption and carbon emissions in emerging economies, expanding the scope of data and delving deeper into emission accounting methods to provide more valuable data for low-carbon development. Building upon the previous year’s efforts, the research team continue to update and refine the CO2 emission inventories of emerging economies, offering the detailed analysis for changes of CO2 emissions in emerging economies across Asia, Africa, Latin America, Oceania, and Europe. Every emerging economy covers information, such as primary energy consumption, characteristics of fossil fuel emissions, and sectoral emission contribution. The team believe that through continuous updates and improvements, this report will become increasingly accurate and make a greater contribution to global efforts to address climate change.
This report was jointly prepared by scholars from Tsinghua University, Shandong University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Tianjin University, University College London, the University of Birmingham, and other research institutions around the world.
