The heavy industrial sectors such as steel, metallurgy, energy, chemical industry and materials account for a relatively high proportion of overall carbon emissions in China and generally has problems such as weak independent innovation, prominent structural contradictions, industrial division of labor curing, lack of systematic coordination. Supported by the Institute for Carbon Neutrality and the Department of Chemical Engineering, the Industrial Deep Decarbonisation Research Center is committed to giving full play to Tsinghua University's advantage of outstanding overall strength in engineering, integrating research strengths in related disciplines, and breaking through the structural barriers of scientific research and industrial organization under the constraints of carbon emission to carry out the researches on the scientific foundation, key technologies, assessment methods, and system integration of industrial deep emission reduction, in order to provide support for fundamental handling of the relationship between development and emission reduction.
