Recently, H E Mr Scott Dewar, Australian Ambassador to China, led a delegation to visit the Institute for Carbon Neutrality at Tsinghua University. The delegation held a symposium with Professor He Kebin, Dean of the Institute. Also in attendance were experts from the Institute and its various research centers, including Professor Guan Dabo, Professor Lu Xi, Associate Professor Zhang Da, Associate Professor Yang Xiu, and Associate Professor Peng Tianduo. The meeting was moderated by Professor Lu Xi.

During the symposium, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on critical topics such as pathways to achieving carbon neutrality, relevant policy measures and challenges, air pollution control and its co-benefits for carbon reduction, and potential cooperation opportunities between China and Australia in green, low-carbon transformation. Both parties expressed a strong commitment to strengthening future exchanges and actively promoting collaboration in addressing climate change, achieving carbon neutrality, and advancing energy transition. They emphasized their shared goal of contributing to global green, low-carbon development and sustainability.

Following the symposium, Ambassador Dewar and his delegation toured the Institute's exhibition hall, where they gained insights into the Institute's development history, research milestones, and key achievements.
